[Shinatomy 1st Anniversary] It's been 1 year since the online store opened.
This article is about Shinatomy's first anniversary.
We'll be looking back on the past year, so if you're interested, please take a look.
1. First
The human body motif specialty store opened on May 1, 2022, and today marks its first anniversary.
We would like to thank all of our regular customers, those who have found us at events, and those who have been watching over us since we first opened.
It's been several years since I first thought about doing what I love as a job. I've finally been able to make it a reality. Although I still have a long way to go, it goes without saying that I've been able to continue this far thanks to all of you.
In this article, I will look back on Shinatomy's first year and also write about our future goals.
2. Looking back on the past year for Shinatomy
Now, let's take a look back at Shinatomy's past year.
This year was a year in which I just kept running, despite being clumsy.
[Event Exhibitor]
[Order sales]
[Creating handmade items]
And so on.
What I want to do, what I can do, and what I'm not good at.
I was working to clarify them.
Of course, thinking is important, but what I've learned this year is that you don't know anything unless you take action.
The biggest turning point for me was definitely exhibiting at an event .
I've always had a hard time with interpersonal relationships, so the hurdle of exhibiting at an event was quite high. However, at my first event , "Artism Market in Osaka," I was able to meet many more people than I expected.
As this was my first time exhibiting at an event, I was filled with tension and anxiety like never before, but the experience of having people actually see the existence of a "human body motif specialty store" was very encouraging. It made me realize that what I do is of interest to someone.
That experience lowered the barrier to exhibiting at events, and we have since participated in Artism Market in Tokyo at the end of March and Hiroshima Comiket on May 5th.
At the Tokyo exhibit, in addition to meeting new customers, I was also able to meet followers on Twitter and Instagram. This was my first experience of this kind, so I was very happy. Most of the time, when exhibiting at an event, you meet new people, and it was also my second time participating in an event as an exhibitor. Being able to actually meet and talk with people I knew was a valuable experience.
As for the third event, Hiroshima Comiket, we will be participating in it in a few days, so please come along too!
3. Difficult things
It was a year in which I keenly felt the anxieties that come with running the business on my own.
From here on, I will be writing about the darker parts that I don't usually write about.
I started preparing for the online shopping site while I was in college, and opened it on May 1, 2022 after graduating. My classmates who graduated from college at the same time as me are steadily gaining experience as new members of society. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I'm moving forward, and my life is by no means stable. This fact pushed me to a corner more than I thought it would.
Before I knew it, a year had passed, and more people were watching my videos than before. Thanks to this, I'm less likely to indulge in gloomy thoughts than before, but the above anxieties are still with me. I'm sure they'll never go away, and it's important that I continue to endure them without giving in.
I am often told that it is amazing that I started my own business, but I don't think that is the case. Because starting a business is just a means to achieve what I want to do. There are still many areas where I need to develop, but I would like to continue my activities so that my online shopping site can reach people who have similar hobbies as me.
4. Shinatomy’s second year goals
Shinatomy has two main goals for its second year.
The first is to "exhibit at more events to let more people know about us," and the other is to "create new original Shinatomy items."
The first point goes without saying, but I realized that in order to get the word out to a lot of people, I need to hold face-to-face events in addition to social media. For that reason, I would like to exhibit at events once every two months. As soon as the event exhibition is decided, I will announce it on social media, so please look forward to it.
Regarding my other goal of "creating new original Shinatomy items," I would like to produce handmade items and collaborate with other creators.
After all, there are limitations to the methods of expression that can be achieved using Shinatomy alone, and with the help of other creators, we want to bring this maniacal specialty store of the human body to new otaku who are into the human body motif.
By the way, as I mentioned earlier today, we have already announced a collaboration project.
The person we asked to collaborate with is Boo!Do, who we also introduced on this blog.
I will post about how the collaboration came about at a later date.
We will be posting details about the collaboration items from time to time, so don't forget to follow us on the various SNS accounts listed below.
5. Conclusion
