[9 months later] Looking back at the online shopping site Shinatomy
This article will look back on this month at Shinatomy, as well as the past month for the person behind the story.
Please take a look🦋
By the way, the previous article is here:
1. About Shinatomy
"We've started adding English to product descriptions!"
I have felt the need to learn English for some time, and I am finally able to start working on it.
The reason why English is necessary is that the demand for items with a human body motif is overwhelmingly greater overseas than in Japan .
Recently, as part of my studies, I started using an app to exchange letters with people overseas, and because I have "gothic" and "anatomy art" written on my profile, I have had more opportunities to talk to people who share similar tastes.
Among them, I have become friends with people who have looked at my online shopping site and given me advice on how to deliver my products to people overseas. (I am truly grateful for this...)
During those conversations, I was often advised to go to Europe. I want to go to Europe once and overcome the language barrier to focus on increasing the number of people who visit my online shopping site.
That's why I'm trying to write product descriptions in English to the best of my ability, but it's quite difficult 😸 So I'm managing to keep going by getting native speakers to correct my English.
Originally, we were just going to deliver overseas items to people in Japan, but the scale is gradually growing... I'd even like to exhibit at an event overseas one day. People change, don't they?
The future is something that even I cannot see. I can't predict how things will change, but I still want to challenge myself while I'm in an environment where even if I dream a little bigger, I won't be crushed.
2. About me
"My TOEIC results are back!!!"
As I mentioned in my blog last month, I took the TOEIC test for the first time since I was a sophomore in college. The results have arrived safely.
As a result, I got over 100 points higher than the last time I took the test.
Although I did not reach the average score, I was very happy to see that my hard work and efforts in studying had paid off.
Above all, I had many friends who taught me English and many people who supported me through my study account (I had secretly created a Twitter account), which made me feel like I wasn't alone, which was a big factor in my success.
I still have many shortcomings not only in English but also in Japanese, so I would like to continue working on them in the future.
By the way, now that I've finished learning English, I'm working on learning French because there is a person in France who does tattoos that suit my taste.
I want to engrave that person's work on my body! It's really difficult, so I have to work hard and not get discouraged. (After studying French, I have a magic spell that makes English look easy, so in a way it motivates me to learn English.)
Although there are still some unstable days, I am glad that we have been able to get through this month. Please take care of yourself too.
3. Conclusion
Thank you for reading this far.
We will be exhibiting at the Artism Market in Tokyo on March 25th.
This will be my second time exhibiting in Tokyo for face-to-face sales. I'm already nervous, but I'm making preparations so that as many people as possible can get to know Shinatomy, so please look forward to it.
If anyone is planning to come, please let me know. Your words will help me a lot.
That's all for this time.
